How to Submit an Application for HIPs Certification
Sign into your Motlow SSO account. On the main screen, find the Curriculog tile. If you have never used Curriculog before (or it has been a minute), you can search for it at the top.
Click on the tile to enter Curriculog. Find and click the New Proposal button.
Click the Others tab.
Find the appropriate HIPs Application and click the Start Proposal icon (the checkmark on the far right).
Enter the required information:
Semester Information (this can be a single semester or Fall AY/Spring AY)
Hierarchy Owner- choose your academic department in the dropdown
Course(s)- this form may be used for multiple courses if the information is the same for all of them. However, if there are differences between courses, please submit separate forms. If you are incorporating a HIP for a specific class section, please include the CRN for that section.
The next three prompts ask for specific information to show how your course meets the minimum definition for the HIP, the assignments you will use to support this, and how you will incorporate a reflection for your chosen HIP into the course. Reflections are part of the TBR taxonomy for High Impact Practices.
Supply the developer/maintainer information.
Please review the information and click Validate and Launch Proposal at the bottom of the form.
A new window will open. Click Launch Proposal.
The next step is to approve the proposal. This is a stopgap measure in Curriculog that allows the person submitting the form to make any last minute changes before the form moves on in the workflow.
At the top of the page, click Proposals. This will bring up your list of “tasks” which will be a box similar to the one below showing the HIP proposal you just submitted. Click the square box on the left and then Approved Selected.
Your proposal will move to the ARC Coordinator for this HIP. The coordinator will review your submission to ensure that it does meet the required guidelines. If approved, the coordinator will send you a confirmation email.
